Let the celebrations begin!

The Alice Springs Masters Games may still be five months away, but that hasn’t stopped excitement building as Alice Springs prepares for 30th Anniversary celebrations.
4000 participants are expected to converge on the Red Centre for the October 8-15 ‘Friendly Games’, a great achievement according to Games Manager Jim Lawrie.
“Having moved into 2016, our preparations have ramped up,” he said.
“Our 30th Anniversary will be a great occasion for participants, volunteers and onlookers alike, and we have some exciting ideas planned to celebrate the occasion.”
The 2016 Alice Springs Masters Games will boast 34 sports, with 3 new additions; Tug-Of-War, Orienteering and Go-Karting, which will add to the excitement of the event.
“The enthusiasm and camaraderie that has built up over many years is very special to see, and come October 8th, we get to do it all again,” Lawrie said.
“The 2016 Alice Springs Masters Games will be a fantastic reunion for those who have been to the event before, so get your friends together and make a pledge to be in Alice Springs from the 8-15 October.”
New participants are always welcome. You only need to be 25 to enter some sports, and there’s something for everyone.
